Start with the Dynamics application you use

Dynamics 365 Finance and Dynamics 365 Business Central have different purchasing and accounting workflows. Start with your application, companies, entities and configuration when designing the Postver workflow.

For Finance, review the legal entity, vendor account, purchase order and product receipt context. For Business Central, review the company, vendor, purchase documents and receipt records used by your team. The mapping should follow the application that owns the financial record.

Postver brings the invoice and the evidence for its review into one place. The objective is a clear path from the supplier document to an accountable decision and an identifiable ERP record.

A matching total is only part of the check

Check the invoice against the relevant order and receiving evidence, including partial deliveries. Keep a quantity difference, price variance or missing receipt visible to the reviewer alongside the affected lines.

Dynamics 365 Finance supports invoice matching against purchase orders and product receipts. Align the surrounding review with the matching policies and tolerances your finance team has configured. Microsoft explains these checks in its invoice matching overview.

Matching, approval and posting answer different questions. A match explains the document relationship. Approval records the authorised decision. Posting needs its own financial confirmation.

One trail across review and finance

Keep the original invoice, extracted fields, exceptions and approval history together. A buyer can resolve the receiving question while finance checks the accounting context, with each action attached to the same record.

Map approval responsibility to the entities and companies your people can access. AI reads and suggests; a person or a published rule makes the decision and is named on the record.

Agree the posting acknowledgement, financial reference and payment evidence needed for reconciliation. If the connection stops before the outcome is known, investigate that outcome before resubmitting. For the infrastructure and access boundaries, use the self-hosted deployment checklist.

Dynamics 365 questions

Which Dynamics 365 application should we discuss?

Tell us whether you use Dynamics 365 Finance or Business Central, plus the companies, entities and purchasing workflows involved. They need different record mappings and a walkthrough scoped to your configuration.

Does Postver replace Dynamics 365 ERP?

No. Your Dynamics application remains the financial system of record. Postver connects the procurement review and decision evidence around that role.

How do partial receipts affect an invoice?

Compare the invoiced quantity with the relevant received quantity and configured policy. Keep any difference visible for review rather than relying only on the invoice total.

What should we bring to a Dynamics walkthrough?

Bring your Dynamics application name, an example invoice, order and receipt, the relevant company or legal entity, matching policy and approval route.
